There is a five gallon bucket in a wooden enclosure with a lock. The creek was not accessible due to overgrown blackberries and poison oak. There’s no water, no electricity, no tables or amenities at all which we knew going into it but thought we were paying for the experience of being fully immersed in nature and secluded but were really disappointed once we arrived. The traffic was light but consistent throughout the day and a loud diesel truck very early in the morning woke us up. Our kids tents had to have their fly up since there were no trees between them and the road. Without a fly on our tent, we were really exposed. The road is adjacent to the campsite but up above it. The site was very close to the road, to the point that I, being in the more secluded camping site, made eye contact with someone walking down the road while I was changing inside the tent. There was poison oak on one of the sites and that made it difficult to find an ideal position for the tent We were there with our three kids and had three tents up. Unfortunately, we struggled with a few things. The land is beautiful, lots of trees and the sound of the creek was very soothing. ![]() There are other smaller but more secluded camping spots on the land deeper into the woods. Please note that the main camping spot is close to/visible from the road which is usually quiet and has very little traffic. Feel free to explore the extensive watershed on and around our land where you can mediate above the waterfall, splash in the creek, or pan for gold! Our land is also connected to one of the most beautiful hiking trail systems in the county that take you the famous suspension bridge over Deer Creek, a place of stunning beauty (and a very cool swimming/hangout spot for kids/families) as well as a short drive from many fabulous swimming spots on the Yuba River, mines, parks, and museums that reflect the county's rich Gold Rush history (will provide you a guide to favorite spots!). ![]() ![]() Nevada City is one of the most charming, historic little towns in America IMHO, it's where the Gold Rush started and much of the town has been preserved. Surrounded by forest, you are also only a mile’s walk/bike ride into town where you can take advantage of Nevada City’s incredible coffee/cafes, brewery/pubs, farm-to-table restaurants, pizzerias, breweries, wineries and fabulous shops.as well as its local theatre, music, art galleries and year-round festivals. You will be the ONLY campers on our land which has a sacred waterfall that runs year round over beautiful smooth boulders and borders Native American Nisenan tribal land as well as Champion Mine State Park. Wake up to the sweet sounds of birdsong and a running creek in the midst of a unique old-growth forest of madrones, black oaks and incense cedars that soar hundreds of feet high into the sky.
